It’s that time of year to spread holiday cheer! This holiday season we want to give a very special shout out to the amazing woman and team who have made so many holiday wishes come true: Patsy Slaughter and the entire property management team at The Redford Apartments!

Patsy Slaughter and her team have demonstrated what it means to be true Houstonians and humanitarians, having approved over 30 people experiencing homelessness – this month alone – for housing! The Redford team attended a Navigation Event held November 6th where more than 20 partners came together to speed up the time from referral to a housing program, to move in.

At the Navigation Event, Patsy and her team filled out applications with clients on-the-spot and approved 17 households in the same day! Further, most of those households were able to move into their new apartments within the week, reducing the move-in time from a month to a week!

During this process, Patsy and her team have learned that people leaving homelessness need more than just a home, they need something tur(n)key! They are assisting each resident moving in with creating their own email and property management account, so residents have access to and understand their documentation; both personal and business related. Success comes from hard work and understanding, and The Redford is working to ensure their new residents’ successes don’t end with their new home, but from their personal development in the future.

The holiday season is the time for us to count our blessings. There is a lot this tremendous team has done to house Houston’s homeless population, and we want to say thank you to the team at the Redford Apartments for all that they have done to help people have a home for the holidays!
